In my humble opinion, not enough are newbie friendly.

I am newbie friendly, but I always insist on meeting first, either in a coffee shop or at a cocktail lounge. The initial meeting gives both of us the opportunity to gauge the tempo and move of our date.

It also helps relieve any anxiety.

Great idea VeronicaPeach... I only partake in the hobby in between SO's. Which happens to be right now. The girls I've seen are usually retired by the time I come back around looking. I suppose that makes me a permanent newbie

I am newbie friendly with thorough screening as well. I insist on meeting ahead when they don't have as much info to present. At the same time, I ask for a small amount for my time and gas for the initial public meet up. If a date is to follow in the next few days, that goes toward my session fee.

I love this idea. A 15 minute pre-appointment meet up at Starbucks would be perfect. I know the old saying says never judge a book by its cover. That said over the years I've learned to completely trust my instincts based upon the first 5 minutes. Not saying I've never been wrong, but the rights have more than made up for it ten fold at least.

I do not like a tentative appointment to follow immediately after the meeting is over. This puts too much pressure on the lady and she is more likely to lose objective judgement because she knows a "two hour date at such and such rate" is within her grasp if she agrees. When you start looking at the potential income, you can get sloppy with screening. I thank the gent for his time and tell him I will be in contact with him soon. If everything seems legit after our meet, I will contact him almost immediately to talk about scheduling. Otherwise, if things don't go so well, I have my time and gas paid for meeting him. LE is not as likely to go through the hassle of paying for no services rendered. I also take much longer than 15 minutes and sometimes have the person pay for lunch because that is more time and money than LE is likely to want to spend getting to know me and me doing absolutely nothing illegal.

I realize the hassle also limits the number of newbies that will want to screen with me, and I am perfectly okay with that.

My methods have worked incredibly well for me and have gained me multi-hour regulars that I wouldn't have met otherwise. The longer meet up is also a good indication of ability to enjoy conversation and longer dates. And those that don't flinch when asked for a small donation for time and gas are much more generous clients in my experience.

It isn't that hard. Kammye, Allison, and Champagne hooked me up. There are several to choose and they are usually good at verifying for you later if you treat them well.

Slightly off topic but YM gave me an idea for an under served niche - a lunch date followed by car head. New meaning to business man's special. Especially hot if the lady can pull off business woman impersonation for the lunch.
