He escalated the situation. It had nothing to do with the illegal lane change that got her pulled over, her attitude over being pulled over, accusing him of setting her up, refusing a polite request to put out a cigarette that, rightfully, gave him a belly full. It wasn't the fact that she would not exit the vehicle after being told to 4 times before being warned ANOTHER 4 times that he would remove her if she didn't. He then forced her to become a Jerry Springer/Maury Povich episode in a maxi-dress from there on out, right?
And I'm no doctor or lawyer, but I think it was the garbage bag she wrapped around her neck that killed her, not a judge or jury. But that is also his fault. Surely, she was a completely sane and decent human being before he came along.

Actually yes, except for the lane change the other things are not illegal. There were many instances that the officer could have and should have used his training and experience to take this situation to a less confrontational place but he chose to do just the opposite as many policemen do these days especially when dealing with minorities, I experienced this first had on a trip through that shithole known as texas. If you want to continue to be an apologist for the Police go ahead, cause they sho knows how to deal with those uppity negros.

Nothing uppity about that woman. I'm no apologist for anyone. I recognize that SOME officers abuse their power. SOME are racist. I also recognize that victims are not always victims and they, too, can be racist. She committed a traffic violation. Period. She did it. In front of him. And, as is typical of abusive, entitled people, she was annoyed at the idea of being held accountable. The entire situation escalated because she refused to cooperate. He attempted to put her in check, because she needed checking, and she went ghetto. It appalls me that you people dismiss how incredibly out of control SHE was and how easily you turn a blind eye to her unacceptable behavior. She is responsible for it, no one else.
If you know you have a target on your back, you know that Black people are being KILLED just for being Black, you don't help these assholes aim the gun at your head. You comply with reasonable requests and take note of those that are not. You don't poke the beast you claim to be afraid of. And no one owes her a free pass because she's Black or because Black people are being targeted. The police shouldn't ease up on anyone because of the fear of being accused of profiling and targeting. We are less protected as a whole. Break the law, pay the consequence. Or don't break the law. Alien concept, I know.
Quit enabling these fools.

+1
Especially since it's evident Bland had a record -- a record the officer checked -- for being "the victim" while driving and *smoking*.

How do you explain away the cognitive dissonance of supporting gay marriage while simultaneously denigrating the practice of homosexuality?

Now DSK, that's not fair. Assup does not have feelings of inadequacy, he is genuinely inadequate.
