Historically, the parties I have been involved with have had the same general premise. Basically a combination meet n greet, hopefully with a bit of strip club and bachelor party thrown in, where there is an option for private time (dances) with the dancers/providers who attend. There is some variation based on venue. For the parties we put on at the home of a fellow hobbyist, there was no cover and I think they have all been BYOB. So, it is a party, and there may be some donation driven play, the word auction doesn't quite fit.
