This is what happens when you break the system the way the GOP has under Trump.

Traditionally candidates have worked their way up through the ranks from city or county office to statewide office to federal office. At each step the candidate was vetted to make sure that there weren’t any skeletons in their closet.

Now under Trump anybody can be a candidate if they simply say the right things to get them past the primary and no one from the party is willing or maybe allowed to step in and stop the shit show before it blows up in their faces.
