Obviously you don't always keep your word. You had a client booked but left him high and dry because it was convenient for you. You didn't bother to tell him which is very unprofessional.
And saying that "I am sorry that happened" is not an apology...which would go something like this: "Satyrrical, I can't keep the appointment that you arranged with me, I apologize and will make it up to you." You should have contacted him to him to let him know-not the other way around.
