Name those 24 better players, good luck.

Wins and championships are all that matter.

During batting practice that day, Tebow crushed eight balls over the fences at the University of Southern California's baseball stadium. But let me repeat the operative words: batting practice. Against two former major-league pitchers that day, he was overmatched. And his arm and fielding skills underwhelmed most of the scouts, with 28 of Major League Baseball’s 30 teams represented.

As an American League scout told USA TODAY Sports’ Bob Nightengale, “It was a complete waste of time. It was like watching an actor trying to portray a baseball player.’’

(The scout requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about his assessment.)

Big deal he hit a hr in low A ball which is a long ways from even AA pitching. I highly doubt he will ever see a major league field unless the Mets bring him up as a publicity stunt next September.

Seriously? In the prior century, long before many of these 'awards' were synthesized, when the only prize was the Heisman , players like Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis, both who played for West Point could seriously be in contention for the so-called Best Ever to play the college game and many others too of that generation, with many of them playing both offense and defense. Tebow had a stellar career in college but he could not carry the jock straps of the many gridiron giants from the forgotten generation!
