Waverunner
Why do you and your Ilk insist on demonizing those of us who strive to better ourselves. If you are not interested in achieving a better life through monetary means, then don't act so offended at those that show the will to achieve.
Money will not buy you happiness. But the pride in ones achievemnts and being a part of the productive part of society sure gives you a sense of satisfaction that goes beyond simply "making money"
You sound like the guy that wants all of the good things in Life but lacks the skills that it takes to carve out your own part of success.

Just like TTH, insecure in himself, he has to flash money to feel superior. Sad, really.

You're right Shayla, I think the intent of lancing this thread was once again Jackie S wants to let us know for the umptish time how much money he's making.
Read through his posts and this is the one subject that comes back and back and back again. Always wanting to know how much we make, always showing of how much he makes.
It's just pathetic, but I think he feels it makes him superior to others.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

I suspect you're correct! Jackie S loves to flash his wallet for all to see. By the same token, he could be flashing an imaginary wallet. In either case, I really do not care how much he makes anymore than he cares how much I make.
It's all the same to me!

Congress wealth increase numbers were released and they are all in the 1%. Gooooo Congress!!!! douchebags.
"Financial disclosure forms filed this year indicate the minimum net worth in the House was $1.26 billion while the net worth for senators climbed to at least $784 million, for a congressional total of $2.04 billion, Roll Call reported Tuesday. The publication said it calculated minimum net worth by adding the minimum values of all reported assets then subtracting the minimum values of all reported liabilities. Two years ago, House members had a net worth of slightly more than $1 billion and senators had a minimum worth of $651 million for a congressional total of $1.65 billion, Roll Call said.

I think this is where you go wrong.
I think he does care how much YOU make. He wants to make sure that it is less than HE makes. He would not be happy if you made more.

Well Thanks, Shayla
It's tough for an old white guy with a job to hang with this bunch of malcontents.
This is what our Grandkids have to look forward too. An entire class of malcontents who simply want the Government to take from those with the initiative to succeed and redistribute to those who forget that the first step in accomplishing anything is to get off of their sorry lazy ass.

I have already stated, I could care less what someone else's income might be in this forum. If Jackie S is making a mil a year or $1 a year, I will not lose sleep either way. I do know with a great deal of certainty that in a couple of years I will be at that magical age where the SSA will be subsidizing my retirement income for the rest of my life! YeeHaw!

Well Big Tex
You will love this. In 3 months, I can start drawing my SS, and guess what. I will still be running my business, and drawing my full salary. Heck, I will even be signing up for Medicare, even though I have the very best in Health Insurance through my Business.
Sure, I will give most of the SS back in taxes, but at least I will get back some of what I have been paying in since I was 14 years old.
And guess what. Since I have been maxing out my SS contribution every year for the past 20 years, I will get the max each month according to law.
By the way, Big Tex, without divulging too much info, what are you retired from?

I have only been in Austin for a very short while. Spent almost my entire life in the Htown area! (I know the lay of the Htown land well! Very well, in fact!)

My jobs (plural) were all in the private sector. (With the notable exception of my 4 years spent in the Army, of course)
Are you disappointed my jobs were not in the public sector?
