Absolutely.
Best deal I've found is T-Mobile prepaid. Buy a cheap GSM phone, and $100 gets you 1000 minutes that don't expire for a year. No monthly fee. Just recharge before the year is out, and you don't lose any minutes. For me, this works out to about $10/mo for the hobby phone; I'm not aware of a better deal.
Buy the SIM from a Walmart not near your home, pay cash. Refill at a t-mobile store, again paying cash. DO NOT pay with your credit or debit card.

Walmart "Straight Talk" Phone, I understand it uses the Verizon wireless Network, No contract,$30 gets you, 30 Day Plan with 1,000 Minutes Talk, 1,000 Text or Multimedia Messages and
30 MB of Data. This service has only been out a couple of months. Can get a cheap phone for $29. http://www.straighttalk.com/

Verizon doesn't use a SIM card. Not necessarily a fatal flaw, but a SIM card is a nice feature, especially for a hobby phone.

A phone with a sim card is crucial in my opinion.
The idea is to get your SO used to the phone.
You can replace sim cards without suspicion.......a new phone popping up every 3 or 4 months is a different matter.
The day will come when she will test you on the phone.........simply put in a new sim card and hand it to her.

Instead of having 2 phones, why not just 1 phone with 2 SIM cards... Swap them in and out. Wouldn't that work? If so, it would eliminate any suspicion and need for explanation of having 2 phones. Of course, you would need a phone with a SIM card to do this.

Yes, DH, I did, but why buy a new phone when you can keep you personal phone and swap the SIM cards in and out. Ive had the same phone for over 2 years, and this way I can keep that phone, buy another SIM card or 2 and be good to go.

I agree that a hobby phone is the way to go for dealing with escorts. Going to get massage (plus extras) sessions at nails shops, spas, apartments, AMPS or the like--the need for a hobby phone depends on: (A) how bad will it be for you or your family if some of your visits become known? and (B) are you willing to take some LE risk that they will try to find customers of the girls? Personally, I am lazy and use one my primary cell phone for these calls. I especially like my ATF's to know how to reach me, and vice versa, even after extended periods of time. But if you ask me what SHOULD I do, the separate hobby phone would be best.

The answer is of course ... yes. Lot of options ... prepaid the best answer.
As to where you keep it (if you have an SO) ... locked in a drawer at work!
Unless you like the thrill of tempting fate.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW ... another good thread my be to discuss how you keep the computer purged of your activity and tips like never ever do hobby research at work (unless you work for yourself) it is to easy for an employer to find out what you are doing (spying on your activities at work) and it is a termination waiting to happen.

Get Safari for your PC. Before using each time set Private Browsing on. Keep your head on the swivel. Done.

For the tmobile plan, is there an expiration for the amount of $ you bought (i.e. $10, 50 or 100). If you only use the phone occasionally, what's the best option for startup and refills?

I've been using prepaid sim cards.
This is good because I never used my credit card and no identifying information of mine is tied to the card.
In the case that anyone I've seen gets busted and they want to hunt down her clients, the phone is not really linked to me, and perhaps that sim card is expired and that number is dead anyway.
It is bad that my hobby phone number changes and that girls I like can not keep and store my number. They can reach me via email though.
It is very good that providers I never want to see again do not have my number when my number changes. I recently had a session with someone I never want to see again, and just before I was leaving, she said something like "let me make sure I save your number in my phone" or something like that.
