What does being a TV star do to qualify anyone--right or left--to be a political intelligencia?

I actually sat next to her on a flight a few years ago, pre-wedding to Tony Parker. Quite beautiful, actually very pleasant to chat with--not as stuck up as a lot of "stars" are--but far from a mental giant.
