Myth: Increasing the minimum wage will cause people to lose their jobs.

Not true: A review of 64 studies on minimum wage increases found no discernable effect on employment. Additionally, more than 600 economists, seven of them Nobel Prize winners in economics, have signed onto a letter in support of raising the minimum wage to $10.10 by 2016.

Myth: Small business owners can't afford to pay their workers more, and therefore don't support an increase in the minimum wage.

Not true: A June 2014 survey found that more than 3 out of 5 small business owners support increasing the minimum wage to $10.10. Small business owners believe that a higher minimum wage would benefit business in important ways: 58% say raising the minimum wage would increase consumer purchasing power. 56% say raising the minimum wage would help the economy. In addition, 53% agree that with a higher minimum wage, businesses would benefit from lower employee turnover, increased productivity and customer satisfaction.

Myth: Increasing the minimum wage is bad for the economy.

Not true: Since 1938, the federal minimum wage has been increased 22 times. For more than 75 years, real GDP per capita has steadily increased, even when the minimum wage has been raised.

Here, I copied them from you since your 1992 "macbook pro" obviously doesn't open hyperlinks
Raise the minimum wage to $10.10 by 2016?

What are you, some kind of pussy?

What not raise it to $25 an hour by next week?

I mean raising it doesn't hurt the economy, right? So why all the pussyfoot half measures?

To 'take something with a grain of salt' is to not put much stock in something. Why are you putting 'a lot of salt on what he or she might say' if you don't believe it? You fuck up something in just about every post. It's like clockwork.

Why hasn't anyone ever thought of this before, it's just so easy. /sigh

I would suggest you google "economics" and start educating yourself before you listen to a corrupt government bureaucracy that intentionally calculates everything to deceive you. Think "unemployment rate"...

Typical republitard responses. Have you ever noticed how they go right to the extreme of the argument? I post about how minimum wage increases don't harm the economy and immediately, they take it all the way to 'let's raise it to a million dollars, it's so easy'. Is that what was said? Did I promote doing that? Did Bernie promote doing that? No, but the republicants have no REAL argument, so they blow smoke out of their ass by taking this extreme angle. It's the adult equivalent of 'I know you are but what am I'. You don't have a real answer, so you just say something stupid.

Did you notice where the article was located? The federal government. And you believe what the government tells you? HAHA, wish we could do business together, I'd have your bank account drained in no time. That's the economics I know and live by, taking money from fools.

Yes, if I owned a burger joint and was forced by the government to raise wages, my cost per burger would go up. Therefore, I would have to raise the price of my burger to have the same profit margin.

Understand what happened there?

Then, five to ten years from now, politicians and people like you will be saying once again, we need to raise the minimum wage again because the price of burgers went up <shock face>.

Raise it to whatever you want, the people that are worth more than minimum wage will get raises as well so you just end up with the same scenario only the prices of services and goods go up as well as tax revenue, which is what the gov is after.

Forced by the government? As if most for-profit businesses would pay one cent more than they had to. We tried letting the market set the wages. Workers got fucked for the exact reason you just illustrated, profit margin. God forbid you don't make as much money you greedy fuck. Jesus Christ, what a concept.

From Forbes:

"American CEOs in 2013 earned an average of $11.7 million–an eye-popping 331 times the average worker’s $35,293. "

331 TIMES MORE! Are you fucking serious? Does that seem right to you, in any context?

If you are stupid, somebody smarter is going to ass fuck you, and as history has shown, you CAN'T legislate the stupid out of people. They have been trying for centuries and still, there are stupid people who get fucked.

So embrace it, don't be one of the stupid ones, and make 331 times more! It's America for Christ's sake, quit crying and rise above everyone else. I promise when you get there, you won't give a rat's ass about the minimum wage anymore.

Another Grubered Odumbo minion decided to drop his half-assed wisdom on us.

Dipshit, a lot of mathematical analysis goes on into determining the right minimum wage. You know math? The subject you've been flunking since the third grade? That's why it's better to leave it to people who know what the fuck they are talking about.

It's called the minimum wage but it does not go up year by year like prices do due to inflation. Does that concept ever enter your tiny brain? No one is saying that we should make millionaires out of people that are doing the min wage jobs, but at least we can give them enough so that they don't have to starve to death. They are working hard after all. When 600 economist's are saying so, my first inclination would be to believe them over some retard on the internet (talking about you, retard). They obviously are not earning minimum wage, so why they FUCK do they care about raising it? Fuckface

Dip shit, do you think those 7 Nobel peace prize winning economists, or the more than 600 hundred economists who have signed the bill, are making minimum wage? It makes sense from an economic standpoint, that's why they're behind it. Don't even pretend with us that you know anything about economics.

The only economics you know is your inelastic demand for having big fat dicks in your mouth.

What happened? Don't even know what "inelastic demand" means? Please continue to tell us how qualified you are to be talking about this issue.
