Lots of wrongs in this thread....

- some unlimited plans throttle speed after certain throughput amounts are reached each month.

- my 4G is generally faster than most hardlines/wifi.

- pictures loading slowly can be caused by a slow server serving the photos....wherever they reside (which is generally not eccie except in the case of showcases)

- mode cunt pics need to be posted.

There was pinck and stinck in the showcases prior to the change in guidelines. All I want is taint.

no wrongs on this end. I can assure you.

throttling speed still has nothing to do with what unlimited refers to in those plans. the unlimited refers to the amount of data. nothing with how fast it is. throttling is independent but yes it does reference speed if per say you munched a ton of data already. most carriers would deny doing such a thing and even so your data is still unlimited in the amount you can use through the speed your getting whether throttled or not.

and saying your 4G is faster than most hardlines/wifi is very subjective. the free wifi's sparsed around everywhere are going to be crap because the businesses are trying to provide access as cheaply as possible. they could even be providing an AP to a mobile network which in essence would be wifi to 3G/4G/LTE and would still suck.

as for you're 4G, I have no doubt it's good & fast. any hardline I have access to or would waste my time using is faster though and eccie is still slower than it used to be not even loading images. there is a noticeable delay.

the ping to www.eccie.net is under 200ms which is generally a good thing but through a tracert the ping jumps up over double when it his the amstn102.**.**(and so on) servers. seems odd but being as I never bothered checking prior to the upgrade I can only speculate.

eh, it seems to have settled down some for me but I didn't feel like typing a whole book. I still see a pause delay here and there but less. it was really bad that first day after and loading the chat has been really noticeable on my end.

Well I'm not going to hunt down the fine print. But several carriers state in their ads and fine print on the tv commercials.

I just checked Sprint and they now have "Truly Unlimited Data...with no metering, throttling, or overages." That's because they had been (or still might under other plans) limit speeds after the first 2 gigs.

It is not subjective when I measure the throughput.

Pinging is a near instantaneous test and shouldn't be replied upon to make observations about throughput. Usually a slow ping can confirm throughput will be slow. But a fast ping might be possible while overall throughput is not so fast.

not subjective about it being a fact (I believe you). subjective depending on the WiFi networks you are measuring against. why I stated most of them will be crap or rather have an actual crap point of connection to the internet itself. but yes I don't know if you're measuring free WiFi around town or what.

pinging does provide you with a response time which you can minimally judge a connection to a destination by. if it was over 500 or 700 that is going to suck. over 1000 forget about it. or no response and somethings wrong or down somewhere. and yes you can have a fast ping but DNS and/or an A-record is fucked up somewhere and you won't be able to access the destination. I was just making a quick observation checking the ping/tracert.
