Every appointment has the potential for a long term hobby relationship. So yes, the attitude is very important and I do my best to get a sense of it before I visit.

If you had a pissy day, you're more likely to perceive posts as being negative even if they weren't meant to be.

So that being said.
Have you ever met with someone simply because you like their attitude? Their posting style or perhaps something they've written in a blog or on their website that really impressed you and made that part of your brain say "I have to meet this person!

Or.
Have you ever met with, read up on or corresponded with someone whom despite their outward appeal had an attitude that just rubs you the wrong way?

And finally,
Can a providers attitude truly be gleaned by her online posts? Or do you reserve any judgement until you're in RL with that person?
Good Thread:

I have found that it is nearly impossible to properly write or read written communication in the manner it was intended. Verbal communication can be interpreted by tone of voice and facial expressions. Written communication lacks the ability to interpret the writers mood or intended tone. If a hundred people read the same message, we will all hear something different.

I can say that I have avoided providers that are perceived as having an "attitude". I personally am not willing to waste my hard earned money on anyone who does not make an effort. Yes, there are days when we all have bad days but if you in the business attitude should be left at the door (that includes the hobbiest too). There have been situations in my personal, business, and hobby life that what came out of my mouth was either misinterpreted or (DUH) misspoke.

Back to the actual question.. Yes there are many times when the ad's or threads I've read have influenced me in my decisions on which providers to see. I've PM'd ladies and got the feeling from what they wrote that they simply were not interested in being a provider. The warning/stop sign in my head (on shoulders) has been ignored and the session was a disaster.

Actions do speak louder than words so I continue to look for best in people... I've found many lovely ladies that whether they liked having me as a client or not, made me feel like they truly enjoyed my company.

Thanks to everyone who has commented thus far on my thread. And thanks for your honesty.

I'd often heard the word "attitude" bandied about in reviews and comments about ladies and about some of the more prolific gentlemen posters.
And in my time on the boards I have seen how some folks personality does match their online persona while others are completely different in RL.

It is also very true what the gent above me has said. That the written word does not truly allow us any glimpse into the writers thought process or personality. It's too flat.
I am glad to see that the majority of respondents do agree that it's best to reserve judgement until you actually meet and spend time with some people.

I especially like this comment.
Mostly because it's true.

I would respectfully disagree in part.

If someone sounds decent on line they may be a jerk in person. But a person who is CONSISTENTLY angry, insensitive, and a jerk I doubt they will be different in person.

I'm always speaking for myself. I believe that an online persona can be anyone I choose to be. I have often thought of buying a wig, blue contacts, new pics, and new online persona in a different city to see whet reaction I would get!. It would be fun!

However, I personally prefer to eventually speak to a client on the phone so that I can get a feel for their real personality. My spidey senses are usually pretty good.

And I can respectfully disagree with that. For instance I've met more than one person who would fit your description on here yet they were more than pleasant to be around in person. Male and female....

I will say this though, I'm a firm believer that your persona online is a part of who you are regardless of how much one may say its just an online persona. It's still coming from the person's mind that's typing it behind the screen. While the avatar and names may be different, the personality is very much a part of the person behind the screen.

Agree, which is exactly why I prefer to play the odds. I am not saying they will be a flaming idiot all the time, but if someone has a very unpleasant persona here, then it's always somewhere under the surface waiting to climb back out--and I see no reason to take that chance where there are other equally delightful ladies who don't seem to have that side to them.

I am not talking about the opinionated, forceful, won't take shit from anyone attitude (a London R for example). I have no reluctance to see that type.

Hobbyists don't judge escorts by online opinions and posts.Hobbyists give escorts chance to show how handle/conduct business off boards.

Attitude is a two way street. Like the Chief in "Little Big Man" said, "Sometimes the magic works....sometimes it doesn't". I love that movie. I've found that the more a woman likes to suck a weenie, the more attitude I will tolerate!

That is incorrect in my case. If they fail the first test the second one won't occur.

Gonna hafta agree with that one. An "online persona" may not make me decide to see a particular provider/poster, but some "online personas" I've seen on the boards via the posts and attitudes given, have made me consciously choose NOT to see someone.

Only if the writer writes flatly. In which case that is information.

The written word can not distract with body language or a beguiling smile - it is stationary and one can examine it for as long as is necessary to cull its meaning.

Read better books (ne: literature) and more often and discover that it gets easier.

Intelligence and wit, and sometimes congeniality, can easily be discerned through posts, if that is important to the hobbyist. It is to this one. It's like a Showcase, except I can be sure the "pictures" are not 10 years old.

I absolutely agree, Johnny Yanks! But it always depends on the individual reader's preference. Certain people in certain groups may be more likely to rely on written words for attraction, while some simply may not care.

For example, here, on this board, I think it's fair to say that the men might be more likely to rely on physical attributes. However, if we venture over to a message board were people are interested in creative writing, we may find a population more entranced by the written word.

This part of of the discussion reminds me of the Sight Unseen thread, where many many men stated there were circumstances that would cause them to see a lady, sight unseen. How the lady expressed herself in words was a frequent basis for wanting to meet her.

I must admit, I'm guilty of making snap judgments based on my perception of a writer's tone and grammar. Though, in my defense, I am quite often proven correct later when meeting in person.
