We're not losing 700,000 jobs a month. It's not happening as fast as anybody would like, that's for sure. But, we are recovering. Housing market is up, foreclosures down, banks are starting to lend again. It will be a struggle but things are looking up.
Unless, of course, you are a republican. Then, everything sucks.

The problem I have is that these things would have happened had Obama done nothing. You can't lose jobs forever. Housing prices will find a point of equilibrium and banks will loan money. However, the democrats like to give Obama credit for what would be natural market results. What they ignore is the abnormally suppressed rebound of the market. Why has the recovery been so anemic? Although there is no way to prove it I suspect that the recovery would have been more rapid if Obama had done nothing. Historically the economy has rebounded more rapidly after a recession.

We are on the edge of an economic Armageddon and you think things are looking up! Obama has run up six trillion dollars in debt trying to spend his way out of a recession.
We're printing ONE TRILLION DOLLARS A YEAR trying to prop up a house of cards. We can't continue printing money much longer without severe inflation and skyrocketing interest rates.
The only way we can return to economic well being is to cut federal spending, not increase it. We need to grow the private sector economy not the government. We need more real jobs not more government makework jobs. The federal government is a cancer.

Here, specifically is the vote in the Senate 98-0 (2 did not vote, Sen. Larry Craig- ID and Sen. Jesse Helms - NC)

That is every single sitting senator, Repub/Dem/Indep at the time, voted YES.
Interesting names on that list, in light of current events.

thinking back was wondering who held the majority in the house and senate in '01.then there was the "un American" card that was played if anyone doubted what was being played out by the administration.

Yeah, 98-0 vote. Purely partisan with an Un-American card thrown in, Right. That is one history no one is going to rewrite, even as hard as the left tries. The facts are the facts.

The facts don't matter much in politics, at least in terms of effecting elections. What matters is what the majority of the people think is true. The left controls main stream media, Hollywood, pop culture and the public school system; they get to decide what the majority of the people think is true.
The people are sheep and they're being herded over a cliff.
