They will never be better than the originals (for me) but they are a great spin on an oldie...

Happy to share. As I shopped for “Hallelujah” I listened to Leonard Cohen’s version. I know Cohen wrote the song, but I like Hest’s rendition best.

I have K.D. Lang’s Hymns of the 49th Parallel, but I bought the album more for“Bird on a Wire” and “After the Gold Rush” (I have Neil Young’s original rendition also) than “Hallelujah.” Lang’s “Hallelujah” was a bonus track for me. I also have Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah.” I bought Beckley’s version before I found Ari Hest. Buckley’s version is my least favorite version of the three versions that I own, because I don’t care for the way he ends the song.
