No locations in Dallas, Addison, Richardson, Irving, Grapevine, Carrollton, Plano, all the closer places.

If you don't feel like driving down to Dallas then I would just suggest Babes or even Sawgrass which shockingly has a very decent one.
My bad, I meant Saltgrass steakhouse.

I haven't been to Saltgrass since the late 90's ever since the explosion of more high end less casual dining steakhouses.

Same for Outback. Can't remember the last time I stepped into one.

Back then we used to go to Saltgrass and Outback for steaks.

I lived in Houston back then and the only high end steakhouses I can think of right now that was around back then were The Palm and Ruth's Chris and Capital Grille but in those days, unless you are doing a business dinner for clients and the company was picking up the tab, no one in their right mind will go there and pay $50 for a steak.

Cotton patch is decent but nothing to write home about.

I like the homemade ones not the package stuff.

Their chicken fried steaks are not fresh round steak, tenderized, and battered and fried?

I was just browsing their online menu and thinking the food looks good.

Never tried the chicken fried steak at Bone Daddy's.

I know once a year they advertise 1/2 price chicken fried steaks.

I always get the chopped brisket beef sandwich with french fries and fried okra.

I can't believe they closed their Plano location at Dallas North Tollway and Parker in the Cinemark West Plano center.

That location is now in the process of becoming a Pappa's Delta Blues Smokehouse restaurant.

https://www.pappasdeltablues.com

Pappas bought the building from Bone Daddy's for over $3.5 millions.

Their menu for the Webster, TX location just looks like the typical Pappa's owned restaurant like Pappasito's and Pappadeaux:

Overpriced!

This is probably the best chicken fried steak in the world.

If you think Babe's or Cotton Patch is the best, you're missing out. They're good, not great.

I agree with the rev of Norma’s. All good Cafe in Deep Ellum makes a vary good chicken fried steak. I’d put it right up there with Norma’s. Runner up I’d say would be Lucky’s on Oak Lawn.

I’ve had Ozona’s. It can be good and eating outside is a great atmosphere. But I find their food in general to be a bit too hit or miss. I still drop by about once every three weeks, but if I wanted to take somebody from out of town and make sure I got a great CFS, I’d go elsewhere.

I know exactly where you're coming from. The last time I was in Saltgrass was about two years ago when the ex-girlfriend's parents took us. For the price you pay for their bone-in ribeye, you could easily spend $5 to $10 more for a much higher quality bone-in ribeye at Pappas, Del Frisco Bob's or III Forks.

If you're looking for something just a slight bit upscale, Haywire at Legacy West has a fabulous chicken fried steak plate. In fact, everything on their menu is amazing...

From these photos, they all look like they have been in the deep fryer too long.

They're pan fried, not deep fried.

Again, they're probably the best chicken fried steaks in the world. If you find one better somewhere else, please tell me.
