March of 2020 we were paying in the $1.50s a gallon for regular gas, I like watching classic movies and commercials to what stuff use to cost to laugh, now I just cry at the pump

March 2020:
Crude Oil $33/Barrel
Gas $1.95
Texas Oil Production 4.87 MMb/d
Feb 2022:
Crude Oil $100/Barrel (a 7-year high)
Gas $3.20
Texas Oil Production on pace for record year
Pick your poison my friends.
To your point BLM, I'm old enough to remember walking to the gas station with a 1-gallon tank to fill it up and I had $0.50 cents in my pocket. Not sure what the going rate for Ho's was at that time though. I need to ask GGT.

Don't worry BLM, we'll soon be driving cars powered by Flux Capacitors and won't need gas, just a bunch of rotting bananas.

Here's a fun fact:
Gas prices stayed at below $1.00 between 1929 and 1980 in Texas...but then....
|
When I was in high school, I had an old 49 Dodge and I never put more than $1 of gas in at a time. Of course, that was about 4 or 5 gals.

Yesterday I watched the Mary Millington documentary.
Very interesting how porn in the UK started
Actress $200 to make a movie circa late 60's early 70's
In 1975
She worked at a Tbar, $15 a night plus tips,
Plus massage parlors, etc.
Check out her story it's interesting
&
for you guys who are into bush & natural body women
They show plenty of bush and soft porn

Unless you eat fast food the price of going out has become very expensive. Eating for just 2 people at crappy Olive Garden dinner will cost you $55 for two meals, two drinks, with tax and tip.
I absolutely hobby less, as the prices have gone up almost double. Rent high, bills high, I got a slight raise but everything costs more which still sets me back.

^^Thank you for answering honestly and leaving what you want to believe politically out of the equation.
It's very refreshing.
Prices are up everywhere; grocery stores, cars, houses, rent, funerals, clothes
The real question is...is there anything out there that has any value where the price has dropped in the past year??....

For the oil experts on here...
If Texas is on pace for a record year of crude oil production, why is the price of gas going up??
If we are producing record amounts of oil here, why has the price of gas gone up since tension and war began in Ukraine??
If we have all the oil we need here, what is going on over there shouldn't effect the gas price here, should it??
If it is simply a supply and demand thing, what are your feelings on the current administration shutting down the Keystone Pipeline and causing lease sale issues among other things??

roger -
It's because it's a global market. While Texas may be making a record amount, it's a blip in the global supply.
The concern is that Russia, which is a huge oil exporter, has to curtail what they export.
