I am sorry you feel/think this way. I am with hobbyistinomaha for 2 reasons: Have family working in the Medical field who come home and tell stories of patients in ICU that they have to comfort because once the suffering starts, no one wants to be in close proximity & I have been going to work everyday (IT field) using a mask on myself properly AND maintaining the 6ft distance (occasionally, it is ONLY a mask since distancing is NOT possible, but, never more than 5 mins max).

I’ve never seen any evidence of a lot of things that are true.

I wear a mask for a a simple reason. I must go a lot of places for my job, even in this environment. It’s true we don’t know for sure how many ways this shit is spread. I could get it and not know it for 14 days just walking through a parking lot as far as we know. I can still be spreading it without knowing I have it. So by wearing a mask the chances of me spreading go down. Even if that is only 10% less that is good enough to keep one out ten people I encounter from getting it. I believe it is much more effective than that. I wear it to do what I can to stop the spread while still earning a living.

What if someone you cared about caught this, suffered greatly, got put on a ventilator and you had to watch on a video feed as they died gasping for their last breath of life, and tracing and testing lead back to you being the one they caught it from? God forbid that happens to you.

Wearing a mask may not be 100% effecting, but short of never leaving the house, it is the least I can do for the ones I love and the ones I don’t know.

Very few of us are in a position to get tested daily, or get flown by helicopter across the street to the best medical center in the world if we get this. I choose to do what I can. I choose to believe the vast majority of medical professionals and not those trying to appease a certain voting group. It’s not a political thing.

If you don’t agree I hope I never have to be in the same places you have been.

So every mask study out there before March says that masks won't stop the virus. A study from Denmark and Japan I believe said that masks might stop 50% of the virus, maybe 70% if both people wear a mask.While masks might be of some benefit in short term situations, the way people are using them and they " experts " are promoting them is a recipe for disaster. Just look at the numbers dramatically increasing even though mask use is increasing.


I've sat through pesticide training classes and how to take off PPE to avoid contamination. I will guarantee that 90% of the people using masks and taking them off are causing their own contamination.

I can show you just has many that says they help. It’s one of those things where we will never know exactly if or how much masks help, but we sure as hell will know if we do nothing. Too many People are doing nothing, including gov numbnuts, and things are getting out of hand. Choose to err on the side of more caution.

Lee Merritt has become the holy grail for those that don’t want to wear a mask. Honestly had anybody heard of her or had a history with her before she came out against masks. I will stick with the advice of UNMC and CHI. Another somewhat local, KU Med, recently had yet another study showing masks slow the spread.

I am sure to the medical professionals everyday feels like ground hog day to tell me masks slow the spread.

actually if you read the study I linked to, it shows how all the studies you reference aren't that accurate.
