What happened to "Are the photos accurate" in reviews?

I looked back at my first review on ECCIE (January 2010) as well as the first review I could find in the Dallas forum (March 2009)and neither of them have the line you're speaking of.

I do remember seeing the line in reviews, but I really think it was on ASPD, not here. I could very easily be wrong but that's my guess.


And just a heads up.... In the future when you have a question of this nature placing the thread in Questions for the Staff-Dallas (each metro location has its own Questions for the Staff forum) will yield much faster replies from staff or owners. Threads placed in that forum are dispatched to staff emails immediately. As you know most people nowadays receive emails instantly on their phones so the question would not go unanswered for long.

A while back when ECCIE was in its infancy, and long before the Provider showcases feature was available, there was a thread asking for input on how to improve this site. I made a suggestion back then that ECCIE should host providers pictures, and that reviewers should be able to rate the accuracy of the images. Here is the part that I suggested because I thought would be extremely helpful when looking at the pictures:

This part is obviously open to debate. After the lifespan of the images had expired, some kind of warning sign would display.

I was agreeing to everything you posted, and then it occurred to me, that for the girls, this would create a large downside to posting pics. Self-image problems are almost the norm in women, and providers are no different. Objectively, the ratings would help marketing. Subjectively they would stop many ladies from posting pics, especially when someone figures out a plug-in to sort providers by rating.

I'd hate to be a mod when the arguments start about pics removed or labeled not accurate, after a lady spends $300 $400 on a photo shoot.

The cookie cutter web pages offer the girls click data for the pics they post there. They don't need it both places.

From a guys standpoint, thinking like a guy, it's a great idea. There's girls involved (thank god), and this would be incompatible with how they think, and their interests. This board is WAY more fun with girls.

On the other hand, by that logic, the reviews would run em off as well. I'm sorry, any impression that I know what I'm talking about is purely accidental

You know, before I got into the hobby I would have said "Really now, who uses photos that aren't theirs? Wouldn't that just make the gentleman angry?" but having seen thread after thread about this very subject and even more about how one lady has had her photos stolen by some other provider, I realize what a silly question that is.

All of that being said, I'm a little curious, what do you do as a hobbyist when you walk in and it's not the provider in the photos? I've never run into this as I use my own photos and my tattoos are pretty good evidence that I'm the lady in the photos. However, one of my favorite things in the business is the hobbyist horror stories like the Scotsman would tell in his reviews and this seems like a good opportunity to hear a few really great ones.
