Good Place to Eat Shrimp?

My favorite casual seafood restaurant is Quality Seafood up on Airport. Their oysters are to die for! I've eaten other dishes there and never been disappointed. It's a jeans, t.shirt and cold beer kind of place with zero ambiance but great food and always busy. Yum, now I'm hungry!

to add to what Tess said. Quality Seafood is the place for all things fresh as for seafood. I've been buying there for years. Many of Austin's finest dining places get the fare from Quality seafood. If you pause and look at the outside of the building from the outside you get an idea of the true size. MUCH larger than you will see inside due to the large processing and shipping area in the back of the building. Most of their business is selling to other places that brag about their fresh seafood. Bought shrimp and oysters there for years to do buffets for socials at The Jungle. Always the best. They expanded the "public" area about 5 years ago after new owners took over. They even have live dixieland jazz occasionally. The father of the owner has a group that performs on a regular basis. It's a great place to have fresh peel and eat shrimp, oysters. They have a complete kitchen and great selection of lots of fresh stuff in the casual dining area. Tess gave a good tip.

Not too close, but its hard to beat the Wanna Wanna right on the beach on South Padre Island. Sitting under that thatch roof with a cold one, some tastey fried shrimp, a sea breeze and those waves pounding is something special.
