I would imagine every NBA team has a dietitian as well as many trainers to make sure those guys eat properly for fuel and to gain strength and stamina. Plus, they likely need more energy during the season and even if they burn off the calories from beer why not eat something with nutrition and calories to burn such as complex carbs? (fruits, whole grains, etc)
Drinking beer is just sucking down empty calories.
Just losing 44 pounds without an analysis of how much was muscle and how much was fat is very shortsighted. Any stupid fat fucker can starve themselves and lose muscle - the key is to lose fat while gaining muscle and I would imagine that would be what most professional athletes do or at least maintain muscle and lose fat.
There is no scenario I can think of where losing muscle is a good thing - except for faggots so they can get the shit beat out of them more often.

FF, you need to stop shooting off your mouth on a subject you know nothing of. frankly it looks bad and makes you look ignorant. do some research.
not all beers are nutritious. it really depends on the alcohol content and calories. the lower the better.
now from what I've read in my research in from 3 different people who've tried it. the beer guy I posted, the NBA player, and a healthy guy who was slightly over weight.
the beer diet causes the body to uses up fat first, then it starts eating at the muscles.
In the latter 2 healthy individuals, they had to slightly change the beer diet to suit their lifestyle.
the beer diet is not a new idea. it actually dates back to the middle ages. people are now just rediscovering this idea.
there were this german monks who fasted for 40 days with just by drinking beer and its just not any old beer. they drank beer with certain type of Hops that had a lot of good minerals and vitamins. these are the "dark" lager type beers.
Yuenling and Guiness beer is one of them.
