I am sitting here watching Greta, (guest host), and I think we are getting ready to see Egypt erupt.
Ambassador Bolten is a guest, and he stated that whether we like it of not, the Muslim Brotherhood is the single most powerful political faction in Egypt. The Military just overthrew a legally elected government.
This doesn't say much for democracy. But then having the legally elected "Muslim Brotherhood" inject all of that ":Sharia Law" shit into the law of the land doesn't say much for democracy either.

We are deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsi and suspend the Egyptian constitution,” Obama said in a statement Wednesday evening. Nonetheless Obama did not call directly on the military to return Morsi to power. Instead he said, “I now call on the Egyptian military to move quickly and responsibly to return full authority back to a democratically elected civilian government as soon as possible through an inclusive and transparent process, and to avoid any arbitrary arrests of President Morsi and his supporters.”

"Fault" may be too strong a word....but Obama was certainly "involved" in Mubarak stepping down. How soon you forget, it was only a couple years ago.

WASHINGTON — Last Sunday at 2 p.m., a blue-and-white Air Force jet left Andrews Air Force Base bound for Cairo. On board was Frank G. Wisner, an adroit ex-diplomat whom President Obama had asked hours before to undertake a supremely delicate mission: nudging President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt out of power.

Even those Conservative bastions of network journalism CNN and ABC were dancing around saying the actual words at the time.

Asked if embattled President Hosni Mubarak needs to step down now -- as opposed to waiting for a successor to be chosen in Egypt's September elections -- Obama said Mubarak needs to consult with advisers and listen to what's "being voiced by the Egyptian people."
The Egyptian leader is "proud" but also a "patriot," Obama said. Mubarak needs to make a judgment about his legacy and the best "pathway forward." Violence and repression have no role in the "orderly transition process," he added. "The whole world is watching.

Sources tell ABC News that after Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak spoke last night, handing over powers to his vice president but not stepping down, the White House and Obama administration in general conveyed to Egyptian government –at all levels – that his message was not enough for the demonstrators, whom they needed to satisfy or the crisis would continue and get worse.

Merged the two threads, I think one thread is plenty for the topic.

The Obaminable faithful probably appreciate a lower profile on this one too.
What was the name of the movie that caused this "up rising"?
