Most men not named Giuliani let vice prone areas slide. Not a woman.

This is an effort put forth by the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco...not the N.O. Mayor's office. These types of stings started back in 2015 under Republican Governor Jindal and former Louisiana state senator and Alcohol and Tobacco Control Commissioner Troy Hebert who was running for state senator...well before Mayor Cantrell took office in May of 2018.
Furthermore, these stings have been happening all over the state, not just in New Orleans. This is part of a broader effort to curtail prostitution (i.e. Backpage). As for, cleaning up a seedy part of town, that started before her term. But let's be realistic about the economic engine (tourism) that supports New Orleans. Like it or not, it is her job and all other elected officials in New Orleans to protect it.
