This is extremely true. Sites like ECCIE (less so than some, more than other sites) require you to make an investment to "register" and then to get "verified status." Although there are workarounds to get that sort of status, which is unfortunately the case, the extra level of deterrent means that the providers here are LESS likely to be scammers, etc than off of BP. BP requires little or no investment.
It's like the old saying about cars, sure a thief can get to any car, but given all things being equal, or close to equal, the locked car is more of a deterrent, just because the one next to it might be easier (unlocked). I note all of the inherent problems with analogies.
Of course, ECCIE has a social media aspect to it, so much so some providers are more dependent on it than they perhaps should be, diversity in marketing is always good. You can refer to your ECCIE reviews (or any other site) in your BP ad, which will provide another layer of protection and information for folks, just like a website (another layer of investment) or any other reference you have. That might make your ad better.
However, the ease of client and provider access... makes BP, as so many others have indicated.. a minefield. Of course... ECCIE is a minefield in its own little way, but I'm probably not going to get robbed...
probably
To the OP: Why do you think folks don't like to use BP?
