EB, first of all, you look marvelous with your ink, and you'd also look marvelous without it. Secondly, ink or no ink is just a matter of personal preference, and I don't see why it has to be some major cause of contention. I had to look back up-thread to find the "ugly as fuck" comment, which is certainly unfortunate and unnecessary -- for one thing, what's ugly about fuck(ing)? Porn's quite popular.
Part of the visceral reaction, I think, is coming from people of my age (60) and up, because it is a generational thing. The cultural meaning of tattooing has changed. In my day, it was nearly unheard-of on women, was a (lower) class marker on men, and pretty much screamed "trailer park," at best. No longer true; now, it's fully mainstream.
My preference is no ink, but it doesn't become a strong preference unless she's pretty well paved with it. As I said above, my "regular" has a lower-back tattoo, which I think she'd be slightly prettier without, but it certainly doesn't detract from my enjoyment of our times together. (She probably thinks I'd look better with some freakin' hair on my head, and I agree -- that would be a definite improvement.)
In any case, I surely hope no one bashes you in this thread.
