Congrats on your new dog!!

Mojo is correct, never skimp on dog food. But, if you're looking to save a few bucks on food and treats, Rachel Ray has a wonderful dog food and its inexpensive.

I tried every expensive dog food out there on my two dogs, but they love Rachel Ray's. Her "soup bones" and cookies are healthy for them too.

I agree with Mojo.

I feed mine Taste of the Wild. I was glad to see it on the list. It's also made in Missouri. My dogs love it and they're really healthy. A healthy dog means less vet bills.

It's also good if the treats are grain free too. If you can find freeze dried liver treats, those are excellent for training. That stuff's like crack for dogs and they'll do anything to get some.

Also check out a RAW diet. I supplement with raw meat on occasion. When it's deer season... I try to get venison for them.

Chew toys are very important... buy a bunch, if you value your rugs and furniture. Deer antlers last a long time for the money. You might have to find those at a specialty shop though.

Get her a crate and crate train her from day one... you'll be glad that you did.

Have fun with your new kid!

I'm not a fan of crate training, but if you go that route, here's some tips.
