2). There are many people who've told me they "want" to know when I retire.
3). There are probably many more who probably "want" to know but haven't told me yet.
4). And those who've been wanting to meet but just need a slight reminder that they need to move me near the top of their playlist if they've ever want to meet or their Tia fantasy will be gone gone gone.
I am frustrated myself about the ones who mention they are gone and then come back again right away and continually.
But you need to keep this in mind that not all of them are using the RETIRING idea just for profit.
Some DO retire and intend on staying retired but:
A). It's hard to get a job in the civilian world that pays bills when you don't have any education.
B). It's hard to get a job in the civilian world "period" and thus they need to come back to make ends meet.
C). They wanted to retire their previous persona and thus they needed to make a formal announcement so that no one would keep asking where they are. They then come back under a new name.
Just keep in mind that if I "DO" retire myself...and I end up coming back, it's probably going to be for reasons A & B. Not because I wanted to deceive anyone with marketing tactics.

You can not possibly retire until you get your butt down to Texas!!!...

I've got my retirement speech all typed up and ready to go. I plan to do a farewell tour of many cities and thank everyone as I pass through.
Guys, ladies, if you want to give parting gifts, feel free to do so (yes, the kitty counts as a gift).
It'll be a blast.

There is an electronics store in New York that has had a going out of business sale for 9 years now. Kinda reminds me of some of the providers retiring.

Then there are the continuous ads saying "Last Day", then next day you see an ad "Last Day". Then the next day an ad that says "I'm Back". LOL. Come on girls wow me with exceptional skills and professional on time services, not stupid marketing tactics.

I had to retire three times.
Once years ago when an exboyfriend found out I was escorting and told my family. They stood over me as I typed it up.
Second time was when I thought I had cancer and it was something minor but I had to rest from the activity for two years.
and then I tried to go into nursing but found out that the work is too physically demanding and I missed traveling the world wearing something other than medical scrubs.

I can see some ladies have had legit reasons to retire and then come back. I'm pretty sure any reasonable person would understand that.
I think the intent behind this for OP was to express frustration/annoyance at those who announce retirement and then do not retire. correct me if I'm wrong OP.

When the time comes for me to retire, I don't plan on making a grand gesture to announce it, but I will just do so quietly. Many years ago before I found Eccie, I was with my X for 8 years. He never knew of my "hobby" lifestyle, and I hoped to keep it that way. lol After we split up, (8 years had past), I needed to get financially on my feet so therefore I began to provide again. And it really taught me a BIG lesson. When you make money, save as much as you can because you never know when a rainy day will come. I am 46 so I may work another 10 years at most, (only giving massages), but that isn't set in stone either. That is why I need a nest egg to hold me over until I can collect SS.

I for one don't mind if they come back.
Some probably shouldn't.
Cher (singer) comes to mind.

I think many really would like to retire. Then they try and realize the money was just too damned good. So they come back.

There are quite a few ladies who really would like to stop. Who see this as a “short term” career—though “short term” means very different things to different people.
I suspect some do they think another job will work out better, but the promise—be it pay, hours, benefits, security, or the implied sexual advances of a boss—turns out to be significantly less than she anticipated (or was promised).
But I also expect a very common version is some guy who—one way or another—promises to “take her away: from this. BF/GF, support her through school, or more. And, as many relationships, it doesn’t always work. It breaks up, or for whatever reason, and so she comes back to this work.
Do some use perpetual retirement tours as a marketing ploy? I am sure they do. But I find it part sad and part comical that some guys only see this possibility.

I think all of the above statements are correct. I love Old-T's response.
