If the "real life phone number" shows up on the internet, and clients know about it, it could affect business. If that happens I'd either carry around a hobby phone, which is a pain in the rear, or more likely be less active and more discrete.
Following up on Euphemia's comment, it would be interesting to know if there's already some place on the internet where clients' phone numbers are posted.
If I were a provider, I suspect sharing the names of time wasters would be at the bottom of my list. Abusive and potentially-dangerous clients and those who don't pay would be at the top.
Sorry if I'm being a little obnoxious or hypocritical. I don't know what it's like to live in your shoes, and clients like me share your phone numbers and a whole lot more on internet sites that are super easy to access, like this one.
