Second, there are many who consider themselves Latino. As many consider themselves Eurocentric. My psychology is lost in the middle. The turn-off is a paradox.

You want to claim "Cuban-American", "Colombian-American" etcetera etcetera etcetera. The common denominator?

The word that has sickened me for the last 2-3 election cycles: monolith.

It's the right word. Just hearing it over and over again makes me nauseous.

The dichotomy comes from being unique in a larger context (and still trying to stand out in your own little subtext), over an even broader collective.

I don't know sbout the first word, but tend to agree with the second description. Meaningless? Maybe.

As opposed to Latin this kind, Latin that kind and the other kind. Grouped together. Meaningless may be harsh, but meaningful it is not.
