But my point is the same.
1968 was a year of violet protests because of the war. They turned off many voters that Nixon called "The Silent Majority". It is possible that the protests today could have the same affect as they did in 1968.
This group of protesters today have not reached that degree of violence.
At least not yet.
And if they do get more violet....you can throw all the poll numbers right out the window.
