Won’t see the movies.

The books were simply typical modern day romance novels, in three parts, with a few blindfolds and toys. Nothing more.

Good girl who is smart and sassy and beautiful meets naughty, rich and unattainable bad guy. Even the author was surprised by its popularity.

When will people admit that females like reading soft core porn?

Glad so many people liked the books. The books struck me as somewhat Plebian and certainly followed a well worn plot. I’ll confess to reading literary pornography for decades and so I’m a bit jaded. But they were an enjoyable quick read.

Melissa, if you enjoyed those books, there are a few other series that have more meat to them, if you like that sort of thing.

More interesting, to me at least, are the Marketplace series (those books are wild!) or the old Beauty trilogy by Ann Rice (when she used to go by the pen name Ann Raquilare ...and that spelling is off. But one can look up those books under the name Ann Rice, now).

The Marketplace is a series of books that feature hard core BDSM and the relationships between masters and slaves with an emphasis on the training.

Easy reading, both series. And they can be exceptionally titillating, grin, if you like that sort of genre.

Good topic!

Hugs,
Elisabeth

PS. Writing this on an iPad while laying in bed. Can look up a few links when I’m on the computer for you, if you’d like. Hugs ...

EW, no more to it i thought it was pretty darn graphic and i got very hot and ya know.....i guess it all depends on ones imagination per say ....i still have the books and still read
them ,there one more called "Grey" i assuming what happen to him as a child shivers lol ....well im a fan to each is own i be buying that book soon!!!

Well, just ignore what I wrote and ENJOY the movie!!!

Those books were popular for a reason and yes, some portions were graphic. Some of us are just more jaded, perhaps.

Hope you like seeing the film today.

Have fun,
Elisabeth

50 Shades of poorly written crap to feed the dumbing down of America.

AKA what used to be referred to as pulp fiction.

This. I like kink, but nothing about the series interests me. I'd only mildly even pay attention, to be more culturally astute. Trash.

Actually, come to think of it women have been reading this "Genre of Pulp Fiction" for time eternal.

I highly recommend a movie called "Quills". An excellent, but fictionalized account of Marquis de Sade. Great Wikipedia on Marquis de Sade, btw. Quills is an incredible movie, rent it on Amazon and you will be so glad you watched it.

I recall my mom clearing out my grandma's belongings long ago, telling me about finding a paperback book called "Unwilling Bride". My mom laughed and said, WTH is a little old lady doing reading a book like that??? Pretty damn funny, if you knew my grandma.
