Goddamn id love not to pay taxes. Already paid $9500 in federal taxes this year hoping I don’t owe shit by time it’s all said and done. $4500 in social security tax that I’m convinced won’t even be there when I’m old enough to retire. Hell what will the retirement age be once I get there? 70+ I’m sure

Yep, lots of people in the same boat. I took my SS this year at 66 1/2. I figured it would go away or I would die. I didn’t really need it but I figgered I would get some of it! But the US is essentially bankrupt now. The debt to GDP ratio is 125%. We pay a trillion a year to just pay the interest on our 35 trillion debt. It’s just not a sustainable situation.

The Government has grown to a size that is out of control. Their spending is out of control. And corrupt. You can easily cut the size in half and not miss a thing. Probably more. Institute a sales tax on NON ESSENTIAL items. No tax on capital gains, estate taxes etc. it’s punitive. There are other ideas floating around. There’s going to be changes. The government is on an unsustainable path of debt. You have to live within your means. That goes for the Federal Government too.
