Sorry to keep soap boxing ....but... It's not just the provider's duty to get tested. It's the client's responsibility as well. Don't be embarrassed, discretion from your medical provider is the law...tell your doctor and attorney everything is a good way to stay healthy, wealthy, and wise.
Only way to keep this stuff out of these circles is that everyone be responsible.

Figured it was a good time for a resource plug...since STD as a headliner will likely attract a lot of attention.

Good info. Although they call clients by number, you have to give them your personal info and show ID to get tested, don't you? So the testing is not anonymous. Also, I think there is a difference between confidential and private. Confidential I think only means your info will not be revealed to anyone without an authorization signed by you, or without a subpoena. And if you test positive for some STDs, I think your name has to be given to State authorities by law. Does anyone have more knowledge on all of this?

AVAILABLE TESTING SERVICES
HIV tests can be taken either confidentially or anonymously. Most states offer both anonymous and confidential testing, however some states only offer confidential testing services.
Confidential testing means that your name and other identifying information will be attached to your test results. The results will go in your medical record and may be shared with your healthcare providers and your insurance company. Otherwise, the results are protected by state and Federal privacy laws.
Anonymous testing means that nothing ties your test results to you. When you take an anonymous HIV test, you get a unique identifier that allows you to get your test results. Not all HIV test sites offer anonymous testing. Contact your local health department or 1-800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636) to see if there are anonymous test sites in your area.

I had a number. They signed me in asked for my name, DOB, address, phone #, email, asked if I had health insurance thru work, asked who my primary doctor was. I dont know if they will send results to anybody or not. The Number you take is just so other people there dont know who you are.

I've never been asked about health insurance, but maybe because I am already in the system. They are going to go off what you say. So my answer would be no and don't have one, my partner cheats so I worry. Obviously don't start listing names...or aliases for that matter.
Regarding personal info. They have to be able to find ppl who don't come back for their test results. That's the point of public safety and why it is free. If you follow up, it should not be an issue. Their goal is to control transmitted diseases...not out you to your friends and family.
Everyone should have a solid plan on testing as a part of this hobby. If you are too afraid of test results and where they may possibly go, you shouldn't play nor consider yourself a reputable provider/hobbyist. Ever hear of one apple spoiling the whole bunch?

Ari, thanks for the info and thank you OP for getting tested...I am not white knighting by saying its your own responsibility as a sexually active person to get tested and if something shows up, do the right thing. I would say that professional providers all responsible about this. Are you? I would guess there are a lot of exceptions and you folks that put no burden on yourself are being unresponsible to your own health and putting lives and families at risk. A round of antibiotics used to treat a runny nose will get rid of this stuff in no time, so no big deal.
Whatever you are worried about...family finding out, work, etc....discretion is the law. Meaning, if for some reason(it won't happen at all), you can sob aways the embarrassment or whatever on your own private island mansion in the Carribean bc you sued the health care provider and their insurance for a huge amount of money. Most medical facilities don't judge, and if they do, they are keeping it to themselves because they will lose their license to practice and be hit with enormous civil fines....

This doesn't bother me, but some people may have an issue:

HIV test results, however, are never given over the phone. You must come in person to the Health Department, 2nd floor, Suite 2000, to get your HIV result. You must present picture identification to obtain your results in person.

wow
well I gues I opened a can of worms.
1) I was just informing people about my experience.
2) I have been with 3 ladies in the last 2 years. that meens I have only had sex 3 times in the last 2 years. (i know pathetic).
3) maybe I have had the infection for years and never had any symptoms. But I find it hard to believe that if that was the case it would flare up just about 2 weeks after my last encounter. so that leads me to believe it was contracted from the BP provider I saw a few weeks ago.
4) Why should it matter if I post it here or in the mens section? I dont know any of you. You dont know me. Hell if I want to see any ladies on here and they dont want to see me becaue of this. I could alwys create a new account. No one would ever know. I will be clean after the meds go through my body and I will get rechecked in a month or so to be certain.
5) Hell maybe the ladies on here should show their clean bill of health to clients before services. I mean hell you ladies have a screening process for us. Why cnt you show us a clean bill of health so we can screen you? works both ways.
Oh well that is my rant for the day. An oh by the way the burning sensation is now gone
