This is a consumer product, the state of healthcare in the US has nothing to do with it. I have a feeling, since you can order them online, that you meant Americans insist rather than America insists. The later gives the impression of government intervention when it’s not really that.

The 50k earner who jumps up and down to get a benefit stops jumps jumping real quick when they’ve gotta put up 20 of that 50 in taxes. It’s not like that here, the takers from the system put little to nothing into it. The only reason there’s not a tax revolt in Europe is that they’ve been, to borrow a phrase, conditioned since birth to pay up and shut up.
