It is now being reported that the FBI investigation was completed several days before the election and no connection was found between the General and Broadwell's speech content that had raised some eyebrows. Also, the "affair" had ended, apparently, about 4 months before his resignation.

The scandal surrounding the decorated four-star Army general who once ran the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan involves questions of national security, politics and even the September 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead.
Petraeus, 60, resigned Friday after acknowledging he had an affair with a woman later identified as his biographer, Paula Broadwell, 40, a fellow West Point graduate who spent months studying the general's leadership of U.S. forces in Afghanistan.
Why does it matter? Security and Benghazi
While affairs may be commonplace in Washington, when they involve the director of the CIA, things can take on a different tone.
Analysts say there is no evidence that a security breach occurred as a result of the affair, but that hasn't stopped discussion that Broadwell could have gained access to classified information as a result of what she has routinely described as "unprecedented access" to Petraeus.
That discussion seemed to gain momentum Monday thanks to comments Broadwell made in a speech last month at the University of Denver.
"I don't know if a lot of you have heard this, but the CIA annex had actually taken a couple of Libyan militia members prisoner and they think that the attack on the consulate was an effort to get these prisoners back," Broadwell said.
A senior intelligence official told CNN on Monday, "These detention claims are categorically not true. Nobody was ever held at the annex before, during, or after the attacks."
Broadwell's source for that previously unpublished bit of information remains unclear, and there's no evidence so far that it came from Petraeus. Administration officials have said the Benghazi assault was a terrorist attack.

the affair ended before the attack. The FBI could not find where any breach of security occurred.Could be she was just talking out her ass...

It's always the cover up, because why cover up nothing? Saying unequivocally it was some stupid movie for over a week when err'body knew and was reporting otherwise is well.....................a cover up and a stupid one at that. At least with the Big Dog, it came down to a conspiracy of two people not dozens.
Security detail for a consulate on 9/11 in a civil war torn, Islamic State should have come up at a cabinet meeting, but only as a "We on it? Yes it's taken care of." 30,000 ft kind of thing. It should have been handled through the chain of command as any serious security threat should have been. It wasn't though - obviously. Was Obama responsible for the details? Absolutely not. It wasn't even a Secretary level on the ground responsibility. But to act like it was a flash fire in an otherwise secure situation is just stupid. Say you fucked up and move on with the fall out. Covering it up just lets imaginations run wild and gives cause to your enemies.
It also doesn't help to on the eve of a debate have the SOS fall on her sword and then not have her available for the investigation. HELLO! People died. Careers are going to get ruined as they should be. The President is being part and parcel of the cover up and when he is sending the Cabinet Secretary whose department was at fault and who that admitted it was her fault "out of the country". Wow.

Are you referring to my post? What's your deal? Twice in the last few minutes? I know what fascism is, and I know what has been reported about Patreaus' resignation. The guys email was used by his mistress to threaten another woman that she though was a contender for Patreaus' affection.

WTF, you are not going to win this argument! LL has Top Secret documentation (that only he has access to) from the Clinton years to back up his claims. The Obama Retirement home documentation is actually in the same Top Secret folder that LL's WMD files are located in.
You must have a high level Security clearance in order to access LL's Top Secret files. Just know the Top Secret files are there and leave it at that!

What's there to get? You made a simple statement that I'm "the best." Those were your words, not mine! I didn't coach you to say the words you just blurted them out! In fact, you felt so strongly about it that you repeated those same identical words for additional emphasis! Once again, the added emphasis were your exact words, not mine!
I will give credit where credit is due:
It is true that you are a StupidOldFart but you are a SOF who occasionally happens to be an excellent judge of character!
Thanks once again for the accolades but that doesn't change my mind. You're still a StupidOldFart!

Actually, after furthr review your are correct: It's only 35 million.
The way things are "shaping up" (actually shaking up) by inauguration day the 1.5 acres in Hawaii might be looking pretty good ...
John and Robert Kennedy started a war with the intelligence community ...
