Nothing you have said about his past bullying has anything to do with the charges against him.

What the prosecutors are trying ought to disturb everyone, regardless of party.

He has the power as governor to veto the budget times involved, for whatever reason he chooses.

He engaged in normal politicking. The solution to that is more politicking - like overriding his veto. Or threatening to pass some other bill he does not like.

The solution is NOT felony charges.

His problem is that the person he was trying to get to quit was looking into corruption into his office.....like I said you folks seem to be arguing that Nixon could fire the special prosecutor without blowback. That is what Perry tried to do, plain and simple. The longer this drags out, the more trouble Perry is in.

.
His past bullying has not won him any friends. Now that he no longer has the office to fall back on beyond his elected term, he has even less clout.

You do not try and fire the person looking into your misconduct. Maybe had he done that before they were investigating him, this would not be an issue.

Not because he exercised his constitutional veto authority.
There are two charges listed in the indictment, neither of which is bribery.

What are you talking about? Is there another updated indictment?

I doubt any of that is true.

Read the original link. Even the left wingers that prompted the GJ investigation admit that if he had simply vetoed the budget item, he was within his powers. But because he SAID IN ADVANCE that he would do it, that it becomes criminal.

How is THAT for a stupid, weak case?

Doing it is OK. Saying you're going to do it is criminal.

And your comparisons to Nixon are weak. Perry didn't threaten to veto the budget unless the office stopped investigating him.

He threatened to veto it if ONE person - not the whole office - did not resign. And that one person was clearly guilty of drunk driving and abusing the police that arrested her.

And the voters of Travis Co could vote her out of office , they are the ones that elected her....not Rick Perry. Especially since he was being investigated by her/office. The case is not as simple as you are trying to make it out to be..."Oh Gov Perry can veto any thing he wants...." While true, the way he went about it has caused quite a bit of blowback on him as well it should in my book.

Typical democrat tactics trying to turn Texas blue. Perry is indicted for abuse of power, and yet Obama is still walking around free?
The Governor of Texas, or any state for that matter, can veto whatever they want, whenever they want, for whatever reason they see fit. The voters of the state gave him that power when they elected him to office for a record 14 years. Just because the drunken liberals in Austin don't like it doesn't change the law. This will probably never see the inside of a courtroom.
Being indicted by a corrupt system is a badge of honor.

I doubt it. Every time people see that drunk ole bull dyke on video, they say, "and they indicted the Governor for wanting to get rid of this".

"He should get a medal".

That video wasn't near as bad as Perry forgetting the departments he was going to eliminate if elected President!

The political hack appointed special prosecutor in this case questioned the people investigating the governor's office. Those people said they found no evidence of wrongdoing by the Governor - he was not the target.

If memory serves me , Perry's donors were under investigation for some no bid contracts that were leading back to the Gov.

Why do you make the claim that the conservative "special prosecutor" is a "political hack?" In fact, the former Federal prosecutor, Michael McCrum, was recommended by both Texas Senators, Cornyn and Hutchinson, to be the U.S. Attorney for the ultra conservative Western District of Texas. The reason Special Prosecutor McCrum was appointed was due to Rosemary Limburgh has previously recused herself, for obvious reasons.

That does not sound like the resume of a "political hack."

always bring it back to your hatred of President Blackula. That's the best way to make a discussion lively among these happy fuckers.
