It was actually a friend of mine that has returned injured from his second foray into Iraq that inspired me to offer the discount. He will never be able to walk properly again. I've seen him struggle since returning. I don't feel the veteran's hospital takes good enough care of him, I see everyday citizens that he fought to protect look down on him because he is injured and financially unstable. He gave his country the best of himself, and we aren't giving him much in return.
I can't fix it, but I can offer just a little bit of relief as a personal "Thank You" to the brave men who have done what I would never be brave or strong enough to do. You are all my heroes.  |
