Default Austin Locksmith??

I'm about to bust open a window to get to my laundry room, but figured I'd ask if any of y'all knew a good locksmith? My dumb ass roommate left town and locked a door that only she has a key to, thus preventing me from washing my clothes.

I don't need a key made, I just need the deadbolt to be picked, if that's possible.

Since it's a door inside of my home, I'd rather not make a "trade". I just need a recommendation from a good service.

Laundromat would be a damn sight cheaper than a locksmith, just sayin'.

I locked myself out last weekend, and had to call Cothron's. They picked the deadbolt on the front door, but could not get the knob unlocked. It was $65 to show up, and $70 to drill the lock in the knob and replace it.

A laundramat would be cheaper - as previously posted.

I second Pop-a-lock. They picked the deadbolt on my front door which in a way is kinda worrisome. lol

No need to worry about peoples ability to pick locks. No house is safe. If someone wants in, they are in. Just that fast. It only depends on how bold they want to be. I was burglarized this summer. 9AM on a workday. They were in and out in about 3 minutes. The only thing that might have deterred them is a loud ass burglar alarm. I have one now. It will wake the dead.

Dogs, maybe; when I lived with a trio of Siberian huskies* I didn't even bother to lock the door.

*Note that huskies are incredibly sweet, not territorial, possessive or aggressive, and that if someone actually did break in they'd be smiling and friendly and perfectly happy to show him where the safe was in return for peanut butter; emphatically not good watchdogs. BUT! They *look* like wolves, very discouraging. If security was your primary reason for getting a dog much better breed choices are available.

By the way, what happened with the original problem, Laura? Locksmith, wait, workaround, etc.?
