Default B&W TV series

OK, this thread is designed to separate the mature from the chillen.

We weren't rich enough to get a TV when they first came out. But when we did get one, I started to watch series on a regular basis. Of course, cowboy shows tended to be my favorites (I was a kid after all and we played cowboys and indians in the neighborhood with the other kids). The shows I remember watching, but not necessarily in order of preference:

The Mickey Mouse Club (Aaaah, how many of us had Annette as our first lust)
Roy Rogers
Cisco Kid
Gene Autrey
Sky King
Sea Hunt
Hopalong Cassidy

Anyone have some to add?

Default some of my tv viewing growing up

1. sears sales floor on saturday morning to watch cartoons with my little sister and brother..we just sat on the floor and drove the salesmen crazy and didnt care

2. watching our neighbors tv while standing on our porch looking through their window

3. being invited to a kids house to watch tv on saturday night and we ..all three of us... outlasted the whole family..they went to bed..i remember the dad got up and asked if we were ok..and i said yeah we are just watching the late late show...

4. trying to watch the texas/arkansas game in the mid 60's in an orphanage with a tv that you had to work on for 30 minutes to even get a sideways unstable flickering picture and everyone had to remain ever so still and not even talk or the picture would fritz for an hour..and finally getting a somewhat stable view only to have the houseparent walk in and say hey boys let me work on that for you....and we missed the whole game

but the best show ever..when i was a kid was ..the original..how the lone ranger became the lone ranger..the hour long show...where he was wounded and found silver and the padre and the silver mine where his bullets were made...

Actually, we watched the horror shows on Friday night.

How did I forget the Lone Ranger on my list??? It was an ATF. He was just so kewl (as the kids now say). This show kind of started my bent towards Robin Hood type characters in literature and on TV. My other one was Paladin.

Three Stooges (My brother REALLY thought this show was funny. It seems to be a "guy" type of program.)
I Love Lucy
The Andy Griffith Show

Tom & Jerry (I loved that cartoon!)

When I was fairly young, color television came out but there were still black and white television shows in reruns.

Hugs,
Elisabeth
