That means that the providers would have to post twice to cover the same area that one posting now covers. This forces them to give up a potentially valuable posting slot. This may not mean much to local providers, but consider the touring provider coming thru NY, now needing to post three ads instead of the current two to cover the state. Also consider that posting twice (or 3 times) takes more time.

Just my $0.02...

as it is now can a provider post a ad in NYC and UPSTATE the same week?
And if any new area set up to make it 3 for NY, she could do one in each?

Then the weekend has the same rules. That gives her 10 ad slots. So it would be hard for a girl to burn all her slots. She would almost need a private jet. And mods that have nothing better than count how many areas she placed a ad.

I didn't follow that too closely, because I have been enjoying this new rum that I found today, but I think that what what Das was saying still focuses around a point which is the whole point of having a separate Hudson V. / Albany section on the boards, which is this:

There is little or no chance that the average hobbyist, or provider, who resides in WNY will travel to Albany, or vice-versa, except on tour or whatever. Why do we not haunt the NYC boards here? b/c NYC is five hours away (not to mention hella more expensive :P)

The fact is that Rochester is the nexus as it were of the Upstate community. While Syr and Buff are within driving distance for the dedicated, Albany is sort of the next plantation over. So why not give those guys their own board? Surely it would be pretty much unpopulated to begin with, but after all what is here for our Albanian (? ) friends to do here? It would be as reasonable for someone from upstate to participate in a discussion of Poughkeepsie.

dirigible that posted pix has to be a fraud. I've seen it on the old CL many times in Dallas, Orange county & Las Vegas to name a couple.
