I think most people who are semi-religious in this country have this unwarranted fear that somehow, a school teacher, or someone involved with children that has a past like this is going to encourage children in some way to do what this lady did. This gal went public about her prior life, and then the fear is that children will come across this information and somehow the "little girls" of our world will be curious to the lifestyle of a sex worker, and want to be like her.
In my conversations with parents years ago about strippers and sex workers, they were all against legalizing prostitution, and the one thing that always came up was
"well, if they legalize it how would you like it if your daughter, sister or mother started doing it?" "you wouldn't want your daughters doing that would you?".
It's irrational, but the fear is there.
Edit: I am a testimony that this fear is irrational. I have 2 grown children now. A 21 year old daughter and a 19 year old son, who know all about my "stripping days", and know about my on off escorting. My daughter is not religious, but a spiritual child and has no desire what so ever to do what her mom has done. She has a great head on her shoulders. She is very aware of the things I have told her about the life of dancing, and sex work. The fear that your child will idolize these women or want to do what they do is sometimes unwarranted.
