Since I started making the trek to Rochester from Buffalo I’ve only seen Gabrielle and her “Peeps” so I’ve never had any reference problems. It would be nice if there was some way to share with my fellow clients who exactly are the providers who are less than reliable when it comes to giving out vouches. There comes a time when the pretenders need to be separated from the professionals.

BuzzBomb: The purpose of this thread was not to complain about the time it takes me to check references, because that is a huge and IMPORTANT part of my job. Rather the purpose of this post was to stress the importance of everyone to work together to make the verification process successful. I spend more time emailing then I do doing actual appointments. I don't mind at all. Because when I do finally meet people, they are quality people that I enjoy. The one thing that makes me and everyone else mad is when ladies can't be bothered to respond to you. I am sure if you were using a lady as a reference and she would not respond, that would piss you off too. I love my job, the good and the bad. If I didn't love it I wouldn't do it!

Gabrielle, I think nearly everyone who has met you appreciates your professionalism in terms of coordination and communication.

For people who have any sense of the provider network, they know you are a vital cog that keeps the reference machine working. There are others that are in that network that are important; but, I'm pretty confident that none do more than you, as quickly as you do.

Funny how things in nature reveal subtle signs that say warning...A cat with it's tail bushy and back arched...A puffer fish blown up nice and round...A rattler playing a tune with it's tail...Reference checks on um well...

I see the reference check banter and frustration coming full circle in a subtle way here too. It's like watching a surreal show of reference checks in the form of an animal kingdom parable on say animal planet or Nature...
