Hobbying in the UK?

I thought I would post this question here as some of you ladies might have some valuable input.

It looks like work will have going to the UK sometime in the next month or so. I've never been there before so I'm certainly going to spend a few days for myself.

Can anyone offer some good advice about hobby fun the UK?
What to look for and things to avoid?
