As someone mentioned, this is probably going to be a YMMV situation. Here's my take-- it depends on who is doing the requesting or makes the suggestion. If the lady would rather meet for drinks to get a feel for the guy or for whatever reason, she should expect it to be off the clock. If the guy asks to meet for drinks, then he should book a multi-hour date with this being part of the date. The best way for this to work is to set it up at a hotel bar. Preferably, this would be a hotel where one of the two parties already has a room as to eliminate travel time.

I actually have a role playing fantasy of hitting on or getting hit on with a provider in a hotel bar. We meet in the bar, and then after a few minutes of flirting, we go to the room for BCD fun.

Finally, I really don't like the idea of dinner and then a date. Maybe it is just me, but I don't want to eat and then go play. I feel bloated after eating. I prefer to let my food settle awhile before hopping in the sack. If I were to ever do the dinner thing, it would be after BCD time.

If your girls will not meet for drinks or dinner before your dates you are hanging around with the wrong girls LOL. I am presently seeing 3 of the hottest most upscale chicks in the panhandle of Florida. On my third date with one I asked her about going bar hopping with me. She said sure. So I said how much for 3 hours of barhopping, dinner and an hour BCD? She said my regular one hour rate, it will be fun. Another always has dinner with me before hand, no charge. Damn it is a free nice meal and drinks. Oh and by the way it was fun bar hopping with a hot 24 year old, I am 63 but in very good shape LOL.
