Why these people cannot recognize that making bad choices in life is the major contributing factor to where they are.
I found it interesting that memebber of her panel believe that a person being able to keep a portion of their income is taking money from the government as if it belongs to the government and not the individual. I have a very difficult time with the concept that the fruits of my labor belong to the government and that I am allowed to keep a portion of it for my use. To further that, the dark haired lady seemed to understand that if I am able to take some of the money I am allowed to keep and put it at risk that I should not be punished for it. The melt-down lady got very upset at that notion and started bitching about the thugs in he neighborhood like it was her fault she lived there.

These people are all socialists. They do not believe that we a right to keep what we earn. They believe the government essentially owns everything, and has a right to decide how things are divided up. It always makes me angry when I hear socialists refer to a tax cut as the government giving somebody something. Letting someone keep a little bit more of their own money is not GIVING them anything; its' their own money, not the government's.

+1; and the proof is in the Democrat's claim "we have to pay for tax cuts".....................like it was their money to begin with, and we have to reimbursement the government for letting us keep more !

Worked with a woman who was getting her Masters in Sociology. I gave her a hypothetical about a woman with three or more children, high school dropout, abusive husband/boyfriend that she repeatedly goes back to, and substance addiction. How do you help her? I got a lecture on goverment services, local services and other charitable services that she could access. I asked about how do you change her thinking or motivation? I was told that she would learn empowerment over time. I asked if she would advise her that many of her problems were brought about by poor decisions. She told me that she couldn't tell her that. I said it was her choice that she dropped out of school, it was her choice to use drugs, it was her choice to have children, it was her choice to go back to assholes. I even compared out hypothetical women to the real Masters candidate working her way through school. She just looked at me and walked away.
