I really don't have a problem with a provider calling me. My hobby phone is always off unless I'm using it for hobby purposes. If a provider calls when phone is off, it goes straight to voice mail. To be honest, I've never had a provider call me unsolicited.

I will admit I am not a smart phone expert, but I use Google Voice. I have the settings picked so I can call from my cell and the GV number will show to the person I'm calling. After I make the call I can disassociate my cell from the GV number and when someone calls it rings nowhere--it goes straight to voice mail which I can pick up at my leisure.
Again, I don't encourage ladies to call uninvited, but I think it's completely unfair to put the onus on HER because a guy doesn't take the precutions he needs to take.
If I give a lady my direct cell # she also knows she can call any time--and I trust her to be discrete when she does. Only those I trust get it. It's the same thing when ladies give me their personal (non-work) number.
