Anyone Else Like & Wear Cowboy Boots?
I like and wear Cowboy Boots, have been wearing Cowboy Boots since I was a young pup. I was wondering if any other South Texans also like to wear Cowboy Boots. I own 30 pairs of Cowboy Boots from Various Boot Companies: Rios of Mercedes, Anderson Bean, Anderson Bean Horsepower, Lucchese Classics, Lucchese 2000, Lucchese 1883, Lucchese Resistol Ranch, Tony Lama, Justin, Nocona, Old Gringo, Los Altos, Custom Austin Hall, Custom David Espinoza & Ariat.
The Cowboy Boots that I own have various toe styles: medium round, j-toe, snip toe, roper toe, wide round toe, square toe, milan toe & cutter toe.
The Cowboy Boots that I own are made from various types of leather: smooth ostrich, elephant, carpincho, kangaroo, cow hide, bull shoulder, goat, calf, New Zealand lamb, teju lizard, ring lizard & python.
I like wingtip boots & own 9 pair of various brands & styles of Wingtip Cowboy Boots. I also like inlays & overlays on boot tops.
I have a Custom pair of Austin Hall Dallas Cowboy Boots-the boots were made/styled to look like the Dallas Cowboy's Football Helmet. The vamps/foot area is made of blue kangaroo leather, the tops are gray kangaroo leather with a Dallas Cowboys Helmet Star overlay made of kangaroo leather(blue/white/blue) on both sides of each boot top. There is no piping that runs vertically down the side of the tops, in the center of the tops beneath the boot pull tabs. The boot tops have an overlay seam made of kangaroo leather(blue/white/blue) just like the Dallas Cowboys Football Helmet that runs down the center of the gray tops in the front & back of the tops. I always wear my Wrangler or Lee blue jeans tucked into the boot tops when I wear this pair of boots. Always get lots of compliments from Cowboy fans-both men & women when I wear this pair of boots.

I have trouble with my foot swelling which limits my boot wearing. If it were not for that I would wear nothing else. I am a cow and calf hide man with the exception that I have had two pair of shark skin. Once the teen are worn smoth (broken in) they are great and last forever.

Elephant is my favorite leather for boots, it's the most durable leather you can make a boot out of. My oldest Elephant boots are a pair of Tony Lama Black Label brown color elephant boots that I purchased in Amarillo, Texas at Boots n' Jeans Western Wear Store back in 1986. I have another pair of Tony Lama Black Label gray color elephant boots from the mid 80's. And a pair of Nocona cream color elephant boots that I purchased from the same store in 1991. I have several other newer pairs of Elephant boots.
Elephant boots are like an Old Timex watch, they'll take a lickin' & keep on tickin'. Boots will pretty much last forever if you take good care of them. Keep your boots clean & regularly use Leather Conditoner on the vamps to keep the leather soft and moisturized. You can have your old boots resoled & reheeled as needed.

Anyone recall the name of the boot maker in San Angelo?
They have a last to my feet and my last pair are a little ragged.

Possibly M.L. Leddy Boots or J.L. Mercer & Son Custom Boots? They are both located in San Angelo.

Shhhh.I have a pair of sea turtle boots!!!Got them when I was in my early 20's in the dominican republic!!!!!They are priceless, many ppl stop me and say those are great looking caiman boots....WRONG.They are the most comfortable and are tough as any reptile boots. Also,I too have a pair of elephant boots and look like the day I bought them in 1987 in a boot store in Robstown!!!
I am going to go and watch the baby turtles being released someday on beach wearing their great grandfather....just hope they dont crawl to my boots instead of crawling to the gulf...hehehehehe

Thanks Mc, your right Leddy's. I called and they still have my specs on file but asked that I come in to be remeasured as it has been too many years. My SO has agreed to make a pair my BD present.

Moved here from the Mid-west and I found it interesting in Texas a man can wear Cowboy boots with a suit. SEXY HOT!! If a Man wears boots he gets an immediate extra 10 BONUS POINTS in my book!

Leddy's makes some Mighty Fine Custom Boots!!! It's wise to get your feet remeasured, your feet can continue to grow as you get older. I'm 53 & found this out first hand around 5 years ago. I wore a size 11-1/2 B boot from age 16-48. I discovered at age 48 that my boots no longer fit, my toes were all the the way to the end of the toes/toe box.
I also dicovered that I have a bunion on my little toe joint-5th metatarsil-right foot. If I wear the wrong size boots or shoes that rub the bursa (fluid filled sac) over the boney protrusion bunion, my bunion starting barking, hurting like a Mofo.
I've gained around 25-30 lbs. in the last 4 years & I no longer wear a B Narrow width. Depending on the Brand of Boots & whether the boots come with a Removeable Factory Cushioned Insole, I now wear a size 12D, 12EE, 12-1/2 D, 13-D. Different Boot Company's Boots fit different due to the difference in Lasts they use to make their boots. Some boots have Factory Removeable Cushioned Insoles & some don't. I have found that I can put a Cushioned Insole in my Lucchese Classiscs 13-D Snip Toe-#5 Toe Gregory Peck Vintage Wingtip Boots & they fit excellent. Without the cushioned insoles & they fit too big. Lucchese Classics Boots are made without Factory Removeable Cushioned Insoles.
I wear a Cushioned Gel Bunion Guard over my bunion & a Gel Toe Spacer between my 4th toe & little toe to straighten up my little toe. A bunion causes the little toe to point in wards, the toe spacer straightens up the little toe & reduces possible rubbing from boots/shoes. The boney protrusion bunion looks & feels like a little knuckle bone protruding out from the side of my foot-5th metatarsil joint.
Some Boot Company's make their boots with a Non Removeable Cushioned Insole-Lucchese 1883, Lucchese 2000, Lucchese Cowboy Collection, Lucchese Resistol Ranch, Justin, Tony Lama, Nocona, Anderson Bean Horsepower.

I rarely if ever wander into The Sandbox...usually I'm skimming thru eccie blurbs so quickly I just don't take the time (Yes, I know....I love the pictures; what can I say?) Anyway, moving along....I will make an exception as per this particular subject caught my eye (primarily because of the remarks of our most recent commentator.....)
Kicking back yesterday I'm watching the Rangers hit back-to-back-to-back HR's (Yah!) with the "Best of Roy Orbison" playing in the background (all the whilest enjoying a glass of freezer-chilled Grey Goose). Then I come upon the topic of Boots & Such.....ahhhhh, very nice, I think....I still like to wear boots on occassion. Then my imagination starts to go into overdrive......Oh, no, I say to myself. This is total sensory-overload....you've gone and done it now, Chateau. Something has to give. Well, the Rangers and the Goose were "happenin' right then" so time to shut this forum down and offer my 2 cents a tad later (especially since it was getting a little tuff to find the keyboard at that point.LOL.)
And so....I'm back this lovely Sunday morning to continue:
Chelsea, honey.....we all know you are the epitome of what a down-home country gal is thought to be.....make no bones about it, you is what you is and those of us who know it and get it, adore you for being true to your roots.......wouldn't change you for all the tea in China.
Having said that....
.....when you come back to Dallas in a few weeks (yep! saw that newest & latest announcement you'd be coming to see us again in the Metroplex mid-month), it's just a thought but you might want to bring them thar "riding boots", Miss Simms. No pun intended (oh, who am I foolin'....?) behind-closed-doors I know that particular type of footwear would be completely and totally appropriate.
And, in case anyone else was thinking the same thing, the role-playing scenarios are without limit:
Chelsea plays the part of young equestrian trainer at Willow Bend Polo Club looking for a few pointers from her supervisor. Horse whip....well, that's optional, I suppose.
Or the daughter of wealthy Lonestar Racetrack owner who loves riding horses during the day....and young studs after hours (yes, it's cheesy, but for the record I don't get paid to write, gentlemen.....just go with it. lol)
Or after an entire afternoon of shopping at Shepler's Western Wear, Chelsea promises to model all these new items for you, personally, once you're back to her place......only to find all items actually remaining in the shopping bags for the first hour or so once BCD (well....you might end up pulingl out that new bridle and reins. We'll let it go at that for now.)
Oh, good times, for sure.
I can go on and on, of course (as you've probably noted this has already gotten somewhat long-winded. My apologies). Wrapping up, the plots and roles are too numerous to list. I'm sure others have come up with their own ideas by now anyway.....
So, boots on or off, Chelsea; makes no difference. You're the Best! See ya is Big D soon, darlin'~
Chateau
