Default So what are we going to do with the coffin that is in the dungeon?

http://continuumchicago.com

So I'm here in Chicago and playing around on the internet. A potential friend tells me about The Continuum in Chicago and I go and take a peak.

There is a coffin in their playspace! With chains.

Now, it's always been a fear to be buried alive in a coffin. Or actually, it's somewhat a fear to DIE and so seeing this coffin with huge chains around it made me think.

Would anyone here like to be put in a coffin for some alone time? Any other ideas for coffin play? (Not to be confused with "coffee" play!)

Great new book by a well published author " Buried Secrets " by Joseph Finder. He is a writer of suspense/ secret spy/ intrigue books.

Quail,

I'll have to look that up while farting around this evening on the 26th floor of my hotel here. And thank you!!! (kisses)

Athena,

It's a regular coffin. Looks like a regular size. If you go to the site and look at the picture gallery, you'll see it. I'm sure that it plays into a lot of fears and the idea of isolation could be part of it as well.

Still ... I thought that this would make for an interesting topic!

Sincerely,
E

Google Joseph Finder . He has 9 books, one of which you may know " High Crimes " was made into a movie with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd.
You can read about the author. He grew up in the Albany area, and his parents still live nearby. I have met him at book signings and a few times at our school functions when he came back as graduation speaker and did a workshop for our high school upperclassmen who wanted to be writers. Very down to earth man.
All his books are easy reading . Read about his newest- " Buried Secrets "

I am liking you more and more. Does this book feature a coffin in it per chance?

Oh ... I just ordered it from amazon. It sounds like a good read.

Hugs,
Elisabeth

I kind of see it as almost like a sensory deprivation tank or a self nullification idea. I had never thought of it before. And, now that I think of it, a coffin would be perfect for some True Blood style vampire play. Who wants to be Sookie while I play Eric?

Please let me know how you enjoy the book and the author. I have all 9 of his books . A suggestion for you-try your closest public library. You can reserve the book of your choice on line and the library will email you when it is available if it is currently out. This way you get to sample reading a certain author or topic before you purchase it.
Many of my friends keep telling me to buy a kindle and get the book online. I guess that I am a bit old fashioned and still need to have a book in my hand when I read. I often read sitting outside and while out during the day during breaks in my business schedule.

You also seem to be a very interesting woman in many ways. I hope to continue to keep in contact with you . And of course if you ever get the opportunity to come to the Albany NY area, I would enjoy spending time with you.

This is an example of thread drift and segues, which while not allowed in the other areas of ECCIE, we tend to not mind it here!

After all, this is Another Realm!!!

Quail ... I'm actually getting an Ipad soon and will use that for reading books.

And maybe I'll find some interesting books about coffins?

Take care. And I'm planning a huge road trip this summer ... perhaps I'll be in your direction at some point.

Elizabeth,

Upstate NY is beautiful in the summer. Consider stops in Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. Saratoga Raceway is a very popular place in July and August. A lot of wealthy men and women come here for the horses and many beautiful providers such as you plan their tours to be here during July and August. Saratoga is about 30 minutes north of Albany.

Again, please let me know how you like his books and let me know if you may be coming to my area this summer.

Coffins are quite comfy with their satin and foam lining... that why I bought a large cedar chest. One has to scrunch up in it so it's not so comfy and like a coffin, there no way out from the inside rather it's locked or not...
