The police don't "treat" for medical conditions, unless of course the officer is cross-trained as a medic-technician with the "certification" to do the work .... they'll get them checked at the scene before transporting to determine whether they need hospitalization at a better equipped facility or will do ok in jail (if that is where they are headed).
Given the emotion involved in the situation it is better for Zimmerman to be tucked away at a remote facility with a different identity for his welfare and protection.
The media should stay out of the criminal justice processing business, and law enforcement ought to stay out of the publicity making business.
