The only amazing thing is that, within his own constitution, this kind of racist statement seems to be acceptable. What does that say about republicans? Why isn't the media making more of this? What does this say about the state of race relations in the US today? What does this say about his maturity and cultural comfort zone?
Of course, true sentiments come out in the heat of the moment.
I don;t believe it is simply cynical, and he is pandering to the racism of his audience knowing that african americans are not going to vote for him anyway.
Of course, there is a lot more to dislike about him, but why hasn't he been told to go for spouting racist remarks?
