This is all about legal precedent. If Obama gets away with this then there is no stopping him from making all his appointments on a given weekend without the "advise and consent" of the Senate. He can also started signing international treaties without the afore mentioned advise and consent. He could then sign onto international bans on firearms, childrens rights, landmine bans, etc without the required input of the people. We would then be living in a totaliarian system. The US Constitution either means something or it doesn't. As was said earlier, Obama himself participated when he was on the other side of the coin. Our leaders need to maintain our laws equally without regard to which side of the argument they find themselves.
